Meat Lake

Meat Lake is one of the headwater lakes for the Assinka River system and offers extensive cabbage filled bays where the big Pike rule. Walleye are also abundant in these waters and provide many enjoyable shore lunches. Meat Lake is three miles (5km) wide and more than ten miles (16m) long. Depths range from four to twenty five feet (8m) with countless miles of wild shoreline. Numerous other lakes and river systems are connected to Meat Lake. You can portage into three other nearby lakes where boats and motors are provided. Meat Lake provides ideal conditions for big Northerns. Walleye here average 16″-21″ (41-53cm) and Northern Pike average 27″-37″ (69-94cm), with many master anglers.
