The Assinka River flows from Meat Lake for more than 20 miles (32km) before entering Black Currant Lake. The cabin is located on the only island in the middle of the lake and is an excellent all-season walleye lake because of its depth and structure. Black Currant Lake is 3 miles (5km) wide and 4 miles (6.5km) long. Depth exceeds 50 feet (15m) in some areas with the main lake ranging from 24′ to 32′ (7-10m) in depth. A boat and motor await you on three different lakes after a short portage. Walleye average 18″-24″ (46-61cm) and Northern Pike average 27″-40″ (69-102cm), with many master anglers.
