Red Willow Lake outpost is located on the Poplar River system less than two miles from the Manitoba – Ontario border. Red Willow features picturesque east rapids with a drop of over 100 feet (30.5m). This lake features some of the finest fishing in Manitoba and holds trophy walleye, northern pike, and perch. Red Willow is ten miles (16km) long with average depths running from twelve to fourteen feet (3.7-4.3m). The deepest water to be found here is forty feet (12m). Walleye here average 16″-21″ (41-53cm) and Northern Pike average 27″-37″ (69-94cm), with many master anglers. You can portage into several other nearby lakes where boats and motors are provided.
Cabin Details
Two fully modern cabins with a total capacity of 12; we are the only outfitter on the lake. The cabins are centrally located with south-east exposures. Both have screen porches, fully equipped kitchens with electric fridge/freezers, gas stoves, hot & cold running water, and indoor toilets & showers. There is a propane BBQ and propane fish cooker as well as large fridge/freezers in the kitchens but no chest freezers. The site has solar power electricity (110 volt) and a gas generator for backup power. There is a wood stove for heat with ample firewood provided.
Boats/Motors
The outcamp has four 14′ aluminum boats with swivel seats & 8 h.p. motors. We supply life cushions & jackets (large & extra large only), nets, anchors, paddles and mixed gas. There are also 2 portage boats available.
